ALA’s hardworking volunteers provide critical support for our legal services, community education, and civic engagement programs.
Qualifications & Expectations
Demonstrated interest/concern for the needs of Asian American and Pacific Islander, Latinx, and low-income communities.
A commitment of 10 weeks, across your specific program area.
All legal and client-related work is reserved for those who are of 18+ years

Help provide free legal consultations to potential clients. Work directly with clients and attorneys to provide free consultations. Various shifts and times are available; this is a completely remote position.
Volunteers for this role must be 18+.

Clinics are hosted three to four times a month, on Fridays and one Saturday a month. here, volunteers will be able to work directly with clients to help fill out immigration benefit applications. This is a completely remote position.

Bilingual and multilingual volunteers are essential to our work here at ALA. Volunteers with proficient or fluent secondary-language skill are often asked to help with document translation, consultations, and interpretation. This is a mostly remote position, with few exceptions for client interpretation.

Help in-person with tabling, community outreach, voter registration, phone banking, canvassing, poll monitoring, etc.
